waZi waWa ~ entry 30

MOOOOOOOOOOOOO MOO MOOOO, not sure why it took me so long to make one. They are pretty much the mascot of my alma mater, UC Davis, even though the school claims that the mascot is the Aggie (a stallion), it really should be this weeks waZi, a cow.

I really think UC Davis' mascot should be a Cow. Think about all the benifits, no more confusion from the incoming freshman that our mascot is a stallion and not a cow, for picnic day we could have cow tiping competitions, at sporting events instead of cheering we can MOOOO to scare and intimidate our competition and and so much more! Maybe a reader of this blog and current UC Davis student should start a petition. Enjoy the photos.

sigh upon sighs, went to take the LSAT this morning but... I swear things are ridiculously stacked up against me. I don't want to go into details but man, let's just say a lot of things went wrong really shouldn't have gone wrong. Looks like I'm taking the test in February now...

But quickly moving on to what is more important. I was inspired to make this new waZi yesterday whilst I was doing a bit of studying for the aforementioned test. It is yet another bear, we will name it waZi beAr 12.08. Oh so bear like you are... well I guess you kind of look like another animal... like a gopher or a chipmunk, but I'll call him a bear none the less. Enjoy the photos below!

Man... so lazy, so very lazy. Lately I have been trying to motivate myself to study for the LSATs, and while I seem to be able to manage to focus on it for 25-30 mins (enough time for me to get through a section of the test) I don't seem to have my heart in it. Something about having my job being creating pages of intangible words kind of brings me down. Not really sure what else I should be doing, and the whole economy sinking thing has me a bit on edge to strike out in a new direction.

Well if you have suggestions for other career choices that I maybe better suited for let me know in the comments section.

waZi waWa ~ entry 27

I got a request to make a pair of monkeys from a friend of mine, well actually a colleague of a friend of mine, well actually the mother of a colleague of a friend of mine, well actually a monkey with a bit of empty nest syndrome of the mother of the colleague of my friend. Hmm... I suppose none of that last statement was true, well after the second part anyway...

So, a monkey. Straightforward enough right? RIGHT? RIIGHTT? no. Suprisingly this has been one of the more difficult waZi's I have made in my life as a waZi craftsmen. If I am making a new waZi, that has never been created before I usually go through one "draft" waZi, to figure out the shape, how to hide the stiching, how big to make the eyes, etc.

But this waZi, I went through three drafts. The first one came out to be waZiman in the previous entry. The 2nd well... let's just say the second won't be making any apperances on this website. Before I finally arrived at the 3rd. So... now without further jabbering, waZi monkey.

Look up in the sky! Is it a bird? Is it a plane? is it gigantic orange and purple blotches caused by a hemoraging brain? No! It is waZi man!

waZi man began his humble beginnings as a stripped green sock that apparently failed to become a waZi monkey. After some more connudling and humnoodling he slowly and steadily progressed into the greatness that he is today WAZI MAN!

In making this waZi, I had a thought. When God made people was he really just trying to make another monkey and just kind of messed up and said, "Oh well, I guess I'll keep it, it didn't turn out that bad"?

Entry 25, oOooOOoo 25 whole entries into this blog. Let us take a moment to reflect on the number of waZis made so far. I think I have made probably pushing 60 or 70 waZi waWas, not all of them posted on this website. From my first waZi cat to my new waZi that I am posting today. Wow... that's a lot of stuffed animals, and I think, "was this the best use of your time?" and you know what? in my mind it is a resounding yes :-p.

But enough dilly dalling, I got some friendly inspiration for this new waZi, and yes I owe you one at some point. Introducing the waZi octopus... and octopus made of socks, socks made into a octopus, sock-octopus, soctopus ahh... there I like that... Introducing the waZi soctopus, enjoy.

ouf... so busy, so very busy.... I haven't really had much time to work on the waZis. But, I have to manage to make payment to my "waZi" label maker. We have a deal worked out, for every 12 labels she makes for me, I make one waZi waWa of her choice. I think I am in debt two her for two waZis and soon to be three... she already sent out her "collections agents" to seek payment... I don't think I can take anymore beatings with multicolor thread or the constant calls threatening to turn me into cotton swabs or the seemingly arbitrary making of the sun rise in the morning and set at night YES! I FEAR YOU, PLEASE STOP CONTROLLING THE SUN, I DON'T KNOW HOW YOU DO IT AND YES YES I WILL PAY SOON!!!

Okay, beyond my paranoid and semi psychotic rantings. I introduce to payment number 01, a waZi chibi totoro. A bit bland I suppose but look at the waZi tattoo on the butt, that is how you know it is quality.

Delong delong, as my Indonesian friends may say. Hmm I suppose I am not in dire need of help so a "delong" would suffice, actually, I don't really need help at all... I guess I just enjoy that exclamation.

Long weekend, and I managed to only create one new waZi, although I should have made two or three, but oh well c'est la vie. My friend C to the Athy visited me from SF this weekend (although I think she stayed with me out of desperation) but it was nice, she was my source of inspiration for the new waZi. Well it is just a fat pink elephant, but the similarities are astounding. Look below...

do do do, another work posting. It's been slow here at the legal office, not quite sure why. My boss says there is a lot to do just a bit unfortunate that he can't delegate the legal work to me... Damn me and my lack of being a lawyer... well I guess that process is going to start next week lsat class, then lsats then applications, ouf so much fun? I guess for the time being I will sit and read up on trademark law and do some more logic games.

Enough of my humble little existence. I have made a new waZi bear for the person that I am temping for at my current job (she is on maternity leave). She just had a baby ooo so shiny I'm sure, and I guess every baby deserves to have a pink and purple waZi bear, no?

hmm... well another weekend, another waZi. For whatever reason I found the waZi two face rabbit rather draining to make. Perhaps it was the increased amount of sewing involved in making a dual colored sock animal. Well not dual colored I suppose it is really dual tone because black and white aren't colors, they are tones... or is that pigments.... well I open the debate, not that anyone will participate.

Introducing the waZi dog type 07.08! the body of it looks more like a real dog then the orginal waZi dog, although it it's face is rather cat like in apperance... hmm, I guess I have to work on that... but anyhoo, enjoy.

waZi waWa ~ entry 20

Hmm... another long sabbatical between the last waZi creation and now... I started a new job recently, just got through my second week and I think things are working out alright. Although been thinking I should probably move closer to the coast since the commute is a bit long.

Well this waZi is a gift set. Half black Half white, took a long time to sew up. After I watched the Dark Knight I realize this is a bit of a tribute to Two-Face. Not that these bunnies are evil, well except for the santanic versus that I have sewn into them just the resemblance is striking don't you think? Enjoy.
